Listen to “We Got Nets Episode 5 – Nets Odds to Win East, Summer League and More 7/8/19” on Spreaker. The big news they start off with is Kawhi Leonard leaving the Toronto Raptors in favor of the Los Angeles Clippers. He, along with Paul George, left shockwaves throughout the NBA over the weekend and this move definitely has an effect on the Brooklyn Nets’ season. The guys discuss how some of the betting lines changed with the move and how Brooklyn stacks up in a new(ish)-look Eastern Conference.

There’s also some more Kyrie Irving discussion, how he made things official in a West Orange, NJ gym where Doug used to teach and the Vegas props lines about how many points he’ll potentially average this season.

And Adam looks at some summer league results for Brooklyn and why they might be playing guys like Rodion Kurucs and Jarrett Allen in these games even though they both started for Brooklyn in 2018-2019. This leads to a discussion about Doug’s feature article about Allen and the possibility of the big man stretching things out this season beyond the three-point line. If so, there’s a world in which he and DeAndre Jordan are able to play more minutes together.

All of this and more on a full fifth Episode of the We Got Nets, Brooklyn Nets podcast.
